HIV and ART affect NK cell phenotypes. Proportions of CD56Lo NK cells were reduced in HIV patients (A), with a small increase in CD56Hi NK cells by V6 (B). Proportions of FcRγ NK cells were low at V0 with a trend towards recovery on ART (C, D). Proportions of NKG2C+ CD56Lo cells were unchanged by HIV and ART (E), but HIV reduced expression of NKG2C on CD56Hi NK cells (F). Mann–Whitney tests were used to compare patients with healthy controls, and Wilcoxon tests to compare patients at V0 and V6.
