Table 1 Inhibition of HIV-1 replication in human TCBs by WR1065 and amifostine.

From: Antiretroviral activity of the aminothiol WR1065 against Human Immunodeficiency virus (HIV-1) in vitro and Simian Immunodeficiency virus (SIV) ex vivo

  1. a Human TCBs were infected with HIV-1 for 2 hr before incubation for 72 hr with WR1065, or amifostine converted to WR-1965 by pre-incubation with alkaline phosphatase. 50% inhibition of virus replication was at 13 μM WR1065.
  2. b Cell viability (mean ± SE), in HIV-1-uninfected cells, as determined by Trypan blue exclusion.
  3. c Cell viability (mean ± range, n = 2 experiments), in HIV-1-infected cells, was determined by Annexin V.
  4. dND = not determined.
