This figure shows the high tuberculosis occurrence in the untreated group. Unlike the mortality rate which was highest in the early weeks, tuberculosis started at about 20 weeks after enrolment (pre-HAART) or after starting treatment (HAART). This could be because patients might have died even before being diagnosed. Additionally, it could be due to the time needed to diagnose new cases.Back to article page
